Sea-Kayak Fiji

Tropical Expeditions

Explore Fiji's outer islands: coral lagoons and warm waters; unspoiled beaches lined with coconut palms; friendly people with a relaxed pace of life.

In the south of Fiji lies Kadavu, a sparsely populated group of islands protected by one of the world's largest and healthiest coral reefs. Traditional villages dot the coastline, along with several small resorts.

In this warm, welcoming environment we guide multi-day sea-kayaking and snorkeling trips. Hiking, scuba-diving and cultural experiences are also available. All of our trips are private, for groups of two or more. You choose the start-date and trip-duration; you choose who to invite. You'll travel in your own group at your own pace.

Island to island, resort to resort, beach to beach.

We stay overnight in small resorts, all rooms with their own bathroom. No camping! Each evening you'll be able to rinse off the salt-spray and sun-block under a hot shower, and sleep in clean sheets on a comfortable bed. Home-stays in local villages are also an option.

No experience is necessary. The Great Astrolabe Reef protects the islands of Kadavu from the ocean swell. This creates an ideal environment for sea-kayaking and snorkeling. Our experienced guides and skilled boatmen will keep you safe as you travel around this beautiful, wild archipelago.

Sea-kayaking clubs, extended families, groups of friends, business colleagues and students; these are the types of groups we work with. With more than 20 years' guiding experience in Fiji our local knowledge runs deep.

From our guest-book:

'Kadavu is the hidden gem of the South Pacific and sea-kayaking with Tamarillo is surely the best way to experience it. Traditional Fijian villages and culture, outstanding beaches and snorkeling. A range of great overnight spots with great Fijian food and drink. There is no better one-week escape - five stars.'

Matt Mueller

'There have been no low points. Lots of highs and at times challenges. I have new skills (snorkeling, kayaking, and general confidence in the water), have tasted the delights of Fiji, amazing food and kava, the people, the places, the weather. It's been an amazing, life-changing experience.'

'What could be better than days of sun and sea, and nights of drifting off to sleep with the warmth and the sound of the ocean. There have been so many moments that have touched my heart, and so many moments that I want to always remember.'
